In Usenet, the username and password data is sent without encryption (unsafe); when using public networks such as WiFi, or even your own network, you can configure Secure Socket Layer (SSL) from within your news client to encrypt your traffic (safe). SSL requires connection via the following ports: 563 or 443 on server news.tweaknews.eu. SSL is available for all of our subscriptions and block accounts.
